The most challenging project for me was the animal head. It was hard to get the lines right and make it smooth. Also to make the eye shapes the same size. Another hard decision was to decide to glaze it or water color. dolphins are shiny and have a grey color. Plus I wanted to color the bottom which help me make the decision to glaze the project.
If I was to come up with another project or lesson I would make a whole lesson about 3D art with candy to make images. Example would be you could buy skittles or students bring in the candy of their choice. Then students would find an image of their choosing and map out what candy goes where. Then they can glue the candy on to a piece of cardboard. Then start the arting.
What I got out of this class was how to use clay and make pictures out of clay. It really taught me how to use different tools to make pieces of art. Also I learned that art can have different depths. For example we did cardboard carvings and book carvings. We had to make the faraway objects farther in real life. I get to take away from this class the experience of using clay and other styles of arting. Overall I loved all of the projects/mini lessons. They made me a better artist today.
